Sherpur District lockdown announced

coronavirus infection in Sherpur district facing Lockdown (block) has been announced. The lockdown went into effect from 9pm on Wednesday. The lockdown was issued in a notification signed by 
Sherpur District Committee President and Deputy Commissioner Anar Kali Mahbub last night on coronavirus control and prevention.
According to the notice signed by the Deputy Commissioner, no one can enter and exit the district. Besides, no one can enter Sherpur district from any other district on the national and regional roads, highways and waterways unless given further instructions, or go from this district to any other district. This restriction will also be applicable for traffic from one upazila to another within the district. All kinds of mass transit, public meetings will be closed. However, emergency services, medical care, supply and collection of agricultural commodities and food items will be exempt from this directive.
District Health Department sources said nine coronaviruses were infected in Sherpur district till yesterday. The health department confirmed that three persons were infected in Sadar, Nalitabari and Jhenaigati upazilas of the district yesterday evening. The Deputy Commissioner immediately issued a directive to lockdown Sherpur District.
