How's the online study going

There are various mediums to class online

The experience is new for the teachers and students of our country. Due to the outbreak of coronavirus, all universities in the country are closed under government guidance. A number of universities in the country are continuing their online education activities.
From Facebook groups, Google Classroom, Zoom, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp group, hang-out, teachers keep in touch with students. We talked with a number of people through the cellphone and messenger to find out what the student experience was like. Mixed responses were found among the students.
Soon after the campus closed, several teachers from Southeast University of Dhaka started teaching online. Many teachers are teaching online through Google Classrooms and Hangouts. Sajid Imtiaz, a postgraduate student in the Department of Development Studies, said, “Many of us who are masters students are working and studying together. The creation of a session alliance due to the corona will have a detrimental effect on both our career and our educational life. But having an online class has alleviated that anxiety. '
United International University student Muntasir Limon was asked about the experience of the class online. The tenth-semester student of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) said that their theoretical classes are taking place online regularly. They are taking classes through live and pre-captured video. He said the presence of students in online classes was somewhat lower than in classes at university. However, since live and captured videos are online, one can watch the entire lecture on the video even if it is not scheduled in time.
Some have said that they are having trouble keeping pace with the class due to slow or high internet prices. Nazmus Shakib, a second-year student at the Department of Marine Science at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, said, “The home of many of my friends in a remote area, where there is no mobile phone network at home, is the fastest Internet imaginable. So they are forced to leave the house and sit in the field. Even when they come out, their connection is lost. As a result, many are missing important parts of the lecture.
Daphodil International University fourth semester student Shabnam Mostari spoke about regret over high internet prices. He said he was able to attend a maximum of two online classes with one gigabit internet package. As a result, he has to buy around one to one and a half gigabit internet for two or three classes on average. According to him, buying one to one and a half gigabytes of Internet packages per day is quite expensive for many. Shabnam added, 'To buy a package of internet, you have to make money on the phone. It can be seen that putting a lot of money together when the Internet package is finished, the phone money is also gone. Then you have to get out of the house to get money again. It would have been nice if mobile phone connectivity companies had an easy way for us at this time. '
Meanwhile, Mahalaka Murshid, a BBA fourth semester student at BRAC University, said students were experiencing various problems while taking online classes or exams in the corona-panic. Besides, there are technical limitations. Therefore, considering the overall situation, BRAC University decided to postpone their online classes and examinations. Most government universities have closed online classes in view of student problems.
